Product Photography

Catalogue-ready shots of the new products at the show. Angled lights and polarisers remove reflections on the ceramic glass and show the firebox, while cast iron, majolica and steel stay tangible in the product details.

Why photographing fire is a technical challenge

Exhibiting at Progetto Fuoco at VeronaFiere means presenting products where aesthetics is everything. Photographing a lit stove or a working fireplace is one of the most complex challenges in industrial photography: ceramic glass creates reflections, the flame risks turning white and black cast iron loses detail.

As a trade fair photographer in Verona specialised in the biomass sector, I use a specific technique to convey the emotion of real fire and the cleanness of the design.

Lively Flame

Balanced exposure. The flame comes out orange, warm and well defined, not an overexposed white blob ("burnt out"). Fire must look alive.

No more reflections

Front flash is the enemy. I use angled lights and polarisers to "cut through" the glass and show the firebox, removing the reflection of the photographer or the hall lights.

Texture and Design

I bring out the materiality of cast iron, the veins of majolica and the modernity of steel. The details of your product will be tangible in photos too.
