Why photographing marble is a technical challenge
Exhibiting at Marmomac at VeronaFiere means presenting a material where aesthetics and substance are everything. Photographing polished marble, granite and natural stone is one of the most complex challenges in industrial photography: polished surfaces create mirror-like reflections, the true colour of the stone shifts under the lights of the hall and the veins lose definition.
As a stone trade fair photographer in Verona specialised in the stone sector, I use a specific technique to restore the true colour of the stone and the depth of the veins.
No more reflections
Front flash is the enemy on polished marble too. For full-stand services I use angled lights and polarising filters to eliminate mirror-like reflections on polished surfaces, showing the real texture of the stone without unwanted reflections.
Texture and Design
I bring out the veins of the marble, the grain of the granite and the lustre of the finishes. The details of your craftsmanship will be tangible in photos too.

How do you photograph polished marble and granite without reflections?
I use angled lights and polarising filters to eliminate mirror-like reflections on polished surfaces, showing the stone's real texture without the reflection of the photographer or the hall lights.
Does the stone colour in the photos match the real one?
White balance is calibrated on the real stone, not on stand lighting: the marble looks true to the physical sample, not altered by the warm or cool lights of the hall.
How soon do I receive the photos during the show?
Photos arrive within the agreed times, the same day; if you need them sooner, or for live communication, we agree on it. Images are ready to use as catalogue images, without heavy post-production.
